If you look at the picture of the Launch Bay suit two posts up, you can see the hood a little more clearly. The side snaps are very visible and the adjustment strap a little less so. The adjustment strap is at least visible in that photo so we know that the hood on the figure is at most exaggerated and not completely made up. Based on a couple of screen shots, I would wager the hood is snapped into the helmet at some indeterminate points (earcups definitely, top of the helmet most likely, and none at the back) and when Felicity Jones put it back on for the takes the back got bunched and pushed up into the helmet.

At this point, I'm leaning towards making the adjustment strap and buckle optional but the presence of the hood required as it is visible in screenshots, the launch bay suits, and the figure. To satisfy the requirements wouldn't necessarily be a full hood. A piece of fabric of the right color that is fastened to the helmet, has the correct lines, and the specified snaps would suffice.

Drew, Thank you for the clarification.

While the screen shots and Launch Bay images do support that the snaps/and some form of fabric is present, they are still rather difficult to make out on those alone. The Hot Toy figure seems to be the most clear visual of the fabric cap. I went ahead and took some pictures of the IGC Figure Helmet and zoned in specifically on the fabric cap. I hope these will help those who don't have access to the doll. I don't know how else you would replicate it otherwise without that as a source.

Also: It is worth noting that due to how the cap was sculpted, the second snap sits forward enough to be partially covered by the helmet lower jaw. Where as the linked images above on Felicity show both directly underneath. When comparing the two, the Hot Toy lowest jaw section seems to angle lower into the ear caps blocking the second snap.

Agreed. And that is the primary use of the figure: to clarify the details and parts that are present on-screen but not clearly identifiable. What the figure won't be used for is to add details or requirements that can't be backed up by either screen-shots or pictures from the Launch Bay suits.

I like the shape of the dome but I think the earcups might be off on the dimensions. The join at the earcups and the jawbone doesn't match the references, either. Overall, I like it, but it does require some adjustments for it to match the references. Would you be willing to share the sizes on each of the parts?

Edit: And, trust me, I fully understand the challenges of modelling this helmet. I'm also working on building it in CAD for 3D printing, but as separate pieces.

Goodmorning sisters and brothers. So closed the gap between mout and ears and changed the ear dimension. Now working on the attachement of the mouthpiece with magnets.

What you think?

It's looking good but, based off the references, it could use some minor tweaking to make it a little closer to the screen used helmets. Overall, it's coming along nicely.

The fabric like hood connected to the helmet is pretty common on many types of flight and tanker military helmets in the real world. From the toy and from the looks of the helmet, it does look like that the fabric hood is part of the bucket, and probably should be made a part of it.
