Required Costume Components

The following costume components must be present and appear as described below for approval. Please see the section below regarding armor configurations for additional requirements.

Note: Measurements are based on trooper approximately 6' (1.83m). Scaling for individual proportions is encouraged.

Imperial Weapons Technician Helmet

For 501st approval:

-Helmet is comprised of 5 main pieces: dome, jawbone, scoop, visor, and commbox
-The dome is approximately 11" (22.5cm) wide, 13" long (27.5cm), and about 6" (15cm) tall (from the top of the visor). The sides of the dome have a curve/drop around the ears that is ~ 2" (5cm) tall.
- An alternate style helmet that is taller is also allowed. It is approximately 10.5" (26.7cm) wide and 9" (22.5cm) tall (from top of the visor). No change is length.
-The nose of the jawbone should protrude between 1.5 (37mm) to 2.5" (62mm) past the visor. The wearer's chin should not be visible outside of the jawbone. The jawbone is affixed to the dome using 2 screws or rivets on each ear. It is attached to the inside of the dome.
-The scoop is attached to the dome using two screws or rivets at the top of the helmet. It is slightly arrowhead in shape and curved to the contours of the dome. It can be oriented so that it points straight back to about 60 degrees down.
-The visor is tinted transparent plastic that matches the curve of the dome. It can between 1.5" (37mm) and 2" (50mm) tall. A small 1mm gap is permissible between the lip of the jawbone and the visor for airflow.
-Gold cog, centered on front top of helmet. Approximately 3 inches (7.5cm) in diameter.
-Commlink Box – left side of helmet
Rectangular Blue Button – top front of commlink, plastic material
Round Red Button – bottom front of comlink
Round White Detail – side of Commlink
2 Circular Grooves – above round white button near top of commbox
1 Horizontal Groove - Directly below the White Circular Detail
3 Vertical Grooves - Right of the round white button. These run almost the entire span between the top edge of the commlink face and the horizontal groove.
Antenna – positioned at the top rear, unpainted metal finish. Should be around 1/8" (3mm) to 3/16" (4.5mm) in diameter and be 6" (15cm) to 8" (20cm) in visible length.
Commbox does not have any visible screws or other means that attach it to the dome
-If the helmet has been painted, the finish should be smooth without runs or streaks. The helmet can have a matte, semi-gloss, or glossy finish.

Balaclava
For 501st approval:

-A balaclava is a black head sock/hood that is worn under the helmet and is used primarily to hide any view of the wearer's skin and/or facial hair.
-Balaclava tucks into the flight-suit collar.
-Balaclava is plain with no logos or decorative stitching.


Imperial Flight Suit

For 501st approval:

-Flight Suit is light gray in color.
-Similar to a standard Imperial Flight Suit, but with a few differences:
-Collar is a standing collar, meeting in the middle.
-Not a mandarin style collar.
-All front pocket flaps have chevron pointed closures.
-Two Thigh pockets (one per leg)
-Black stripe is present on each side from the armpit to the end of the leg. It is approximately 1/2" (13mm)
-Upper Arms have the following features:
-An Imperial Cog Emblem on a black circular background with gold stitching
-Have a pocket with chevron pointed closure. These are below the Imperial Cog emblems
-Each arm has a black stripe from the base of the collar to the end of sleeve. It is approximately 1/2" (13mm)
-Compad on wearers left arm, starting above the gauntlet.

Belt

For 501st approval:

-Constructed from a non-textured leather or similar material.
-Belt is approximately 2" in width.
-Black in color.
-Silver "Rebels" style buckle is constructed from horizontally brushed metal, or plastic material.
-Within the buckle is a drawn circle.
-(1) snap-rivet on the wearers right side of the buckle.
-No holes or loops on the belt.

Lower Leg Armor

For 501st approval:

-Lower Leg Armor is black in color.
-Armor extends down over the foot and at the sides, but leaves the heal and toe sections exposed.
-Silver "buckle" is preset at the top on the outward face of the armor

Boots

For 501st approval:

-Black calf or ankle-high boots/shoes are made from leather or similar material.
-There is a patch over the top of the boots to hide any laces.
-Patch matches color of armor.
-Soles of boots are flat and match the color of the armor.

Black Gauntlet Gloves
For 501st approval:

-Black, leather or leather-like, enclosed fingered, non-textured, fitted gauntlet style.
-No buckles, straps, or decorative stitching are permitted.
-The three straight lines on the back of the hand (that match some references) are permitted.

For level two certification (if applicable):

-Gloves shall be made of leather.

For level three certification (if applicable):

-Gauntlets shall slightly flair-out, upward from the wrist to the mid- forearm.


Imperial Communications Pad

-Compad is 5cm squared & sits on the Flight Suit, above the Gauntlet, on the Left arm.
-Compad is black in color.
-Commpad has a gray square that covers 25% of the recessed section of the commpad in the upper right hand corner

While we fine tune the verbiage on the CRL, the next step is to obtain reference photos for the CRL. The LMO will be opening up a spot on the official CRL page under the IGC for this. Once that has been created, we'll begin porting our progress over.

I'm still working on the language. That was just the first draft. Once I get all of the pictures we'll be able to start building the official CRL for LMO review.

Images added to the working CRL. Some of them look horrible on the gray background but look fine against a white background. I'll clean those up for the final. I will be using the shared objects for the balaclava and gloves.

After a small debate, it was decided we needed to have a color swatch available for the helmet and suit cogs. "Gold" was too open ended. This image will be attached to the final CRL.
